What I Learned in Denmark Talking to National Sport Leaders

This week, I travelled to Denmark to speak to national governing bodies and sport leaders about something every sport needs to ask:
Do you want your sport to survive?
That’s not a marketing hook — it’s a reality check.
Because relevance is survival now. And staying relevant means designing for the whole community, not just the part that’s already showing up.
In Denmark, over 1 in 3 people report a disability. That’s around 30% of the population. If your sport or club isn’t actively including them, it’s excluding them by design.
Inclusion + Diversity = Staying Relevant
When I presented to leaders across the Danish sports system, I didn’t come with buzzwords — I came with reality. Here’s what’s clear:
1. Sport must adapt to people.
We’ve spent decades expecting people to bend, fit in, or try harder. That model’s done. Now, sport must adapt to different needs, bodies, and brains — or it will get left behind.
2. Flexible environments make participation possible.
When the space, rules, or delivery changes, so does access. SEND participants and neurodiverse athletes thrive when coaching is built with them in mind — not bolted on as an afterthought.
3. Clubs that reflect communities thrive.
If your club only welcomes the same people it always has, it’s shrinking. Growth comes from opening up and designing delivery that mirrors today’s communities, not yesterday’s structures.
At Move Mojo®, we help clubs, coaches, and organisations rebuild how they deliver movement you can find out more by visiting movemojo.com
We gamify, adapt, and make it inclusive — so physical activity becomes something everyone can access, not just a select few.
💬 So here’s the question:
Does your sport reflect today’s society — or the one it used to serve?
If it’s the latter, let’s talk.
