This short course has been created to help teachers and coaches understand how to adapt PE more confidently and effectively to meet the wider needs of children in their school.
Built by our friends at Move Mojo, a team that’s spent years delivering in Paralympic sport and now delivers inclusive sport across schools, local authorities, and national governing body programs, the mini course strips away the guesswork and gives you an insight on what could work in real environments.
This course doesn’t give you a new curriculum. It’s here to help you build confidence around what to adapt, what to look for, and how to adapt – so that you can create equity within PE and most importantly training the person not the disability.
The course is split into five short units:
Understanding Inclusion & Equity – moving beyond labels and looking at real-world dynamics.
Coaching – The ‘what’ ‘why’ of coaching.
Coaching Cues for Wider Audiences – visual, auditory, and tactile strategies that cater for a wider range of learners.
Constraints-Led Approaches – using environment, task, and individual factors to shape learning.
The ADAPT IT Model – a practical tool for planning and adjusting lessons on the fly or in your schemes of work.
Each unit comes with a short video, downloadable slides, and a handout you can use to shape your planning.
This is a mini course that is not a deep dive, however, it will give you the confidence and clarity to make a start, making real differences in how you can adapt your sessions
